485 Captain's Cove: Palmetto Dunes

This villa was incredibly comfortable, very clean and so coastal ! The pictures do not do it justice ! Light and airy . Lots of thought was put into the amenities.. never had so many details attended prior to my stay . Definitely will rent again and happy to give a very high rating for the villa and Beverly Serral signatures!

We had a great time and this rental was perfect for our family. Our boys loved the spiral staircase and called the loft their "clubhouse". I was very impressed with how stocked the kitchen was with everything you could need, even spices and cooking oil. The washer and dryer were new large capacity front load models. Great experience, and nice not having to lug the children through a parking deck to an elevator. Parking was at the doorstep and just steps from the beach. Rental company was also wonderful to work with.

I have had the hvac and air duct folks go over the villa and there is no mold except for the millions of spores outside in our super humid climate. I hope this helps! Beverly

Nice place; much nicer than other beach houses we've stayed at. Enclosed back patio was very welcome and made for eating dinner outside excellent. Nicely stocked and we really need a lot of extras which was very nice. All the beach supplies that you really need are already there, which was also nicer than I had thought it would be. The spiral stairs go to the loft are not great for really small kids and the loft does not have a door, but overall we were very happy. We would stay here again.

The rental was perfect, exactly as pictured, and just across the street from the beach and pool. It was very clean, comfortable, wonderfully decorated and all the amenities you could want. My granddaughter and her friend loved the room at the top of the spiral staircase. There was plenty of room for everyone to hang out in the living room, but everyone also had their own room and bath. Bike rentals, a general store and a few restaurants were just a short walk away so whatever someone wanted to do, it was very easy and accessible. We would definitely stay there again!

What a wonderful property and vacation! The host was not kidding when they said the property provides everything you need. The beach is right across the street, the home is well stocked, so much to do around Palmetto Dunes and the surrounding areas. All we needed was our personal effects and food, everything else was provided. We loved it so much that we are booking again for next year, we will be back!

The location was perfect, but the condo could have been nicer. Lots of mold in the master shower, and only two towels! Hopefully, that was an oversight just for our week.

Linda-- Thank you for writing-- we wish you had called us! I personally inspected this villa before your arrival and can attest that I did find some mildew on the master shower ceiling, but it was removed with bleach prior to your arrival. Obviously the bath fan is not maximizing the air circulation, or we think that often people do not turn the fan on. I think we will solve this problem from now on by having the fan and light operate together. It is helpful that you have let us know this is an ongoing issue and not isolated. As for towels-- we stocked the villa with 2 full sets of towels per person, for a total of 16 full sets of linens, prior to your arrival so I am not sure what to say about this..... Potential guests please note-- We ALWAYS respond to any issue immediately, all you need do is let us know. Palmetto Dunes never lets us down and neither did Captains Cove 485. The location was perfect. This end unit provided a beautiful setting with privacy and only a few steps to the beach and pool. It was very clean had all the amenities needed for our week stay. The unit could use slight updates but that’s us being “very” picky. Thanks!

Our stay was perfect—except for the cold weather! We have never stayed in a rental that had absolutely everything we needed!! I didn’t need to buy salt and pepper for our week stay or laundry detergent or even propane for the one time we used the grill! The snacks and bananas there for us were a nice touch as were the dog treats for our dog! The keyless entry was great, connecting to WiFi and tv use was easy! The home was clean, towels were nice! Nice there were beach towels and beach things for our use, although we did not make use of them due to the cold temperatures! I would definitely recommend staying here! Close walk to the beach!!

This was our first trip to Hilton Head and this villa did not disappoint. The unit was very clean and comfortable. There is now a large sectional in the living room that was perfect for our party of 5. The kitchen is well stocked and organized (many meals and even birthday treats were prepared there). The beds were all on the firm side, but I just prefer a soft bed. We had an issue with the ceiling fan in the loft, but Beverly was super responsive and professional and sent her nice handyman out the next morning. We LOVED the location in Palmetto Dunes and actually preferred it over Sea Pines. Walking distance to the beach, pool, and general store was a definite plus. All of the beach equipment provided was in great shape (the only thing not provided were pool noodles). Just bring your clothes and toothbrush and you're all set! Our favorite restaurants were A Lowcountry Backyard (downhome atmosphere and BEST shrimp & grits!), Coast (upscale food and ocean view), and The French Bakery (amazing pastries). Surprisingly, everyone loved the gator bites at The Salty Dog! Mini golf at Pirate's Island was the best mini golf EVER. Thanks to Beverly for making my 50th so special. :)

I rented this unit for a girlfriends get away. The location was perfect. Close to beach and easy access to area shops, grocery and restaurants. Condo was well appointed and well stocked. Particularly enjoyed having coffee on the deck watching the wildlife. Plan on coming back with husband in November and will rent from Beverly again. I can't imagine renting from anyone else.

We stayed over MLK weekend and had mixed feelings about this rental. The location is 5 stars. It was a short walk to the beach and near Hilton Head Outfitters, where we rented bikes. Minigolf, restaurants and grocery stores were all super close as well.

In terms of the unit itself, it was disappointing compared to other Beverly Serral properties we stayed at on prior visits to HHI. It felt older. We were there in the winter and it was difficult to keep all areas of them home at a comfortable temperature. There is only one thermostat and the loft area at the top of the steps was unbearably hot when the downstairs was comfortable. The hot water started to run out after 3 people took showers.

We also had to catch two little lizards that found their way inside the home. The weatherstripping on the bottom of the front door doesn't seal the doorway. I'm guessing that is how they came in.

Other than the lizards, the unit is super clean.

Would we stay here again? I'm torn, because the location was so great, but we were disappointed with the unit.

As always (third-time customers), this Beverly Serral Signature Rental property was clean, well equipped and perfectly located. The storage closet had a beach cart ready to go - we simply selected and loaded on the beach chairs, put our cooler and snacks in the basket, rolled across the street, through a small parking lot, up the ramp and down to the GREAT beach! Less than 10 minutes (NO steps or car needed). WOW, that is as good as it gets on Hilton Head Island (or anywhere else)!! We absolutely loved this vacation rental. It is extremely cozy, well equipped and so close to the beach. The home had everything you can possibly need while on vacation. It even had most of the spices you use while cooking. Palmetto Dunes is amazing, great for riding bicycles and for walks. We certainly felt like at home and would love to return again.
Beverly, the property manager was extremely responsive to any need we may have had.
I highly recommend Captain’s Cove for a quote and peaceful vacation rental.

We have rented many vacation homes in many places. This home was one of the best. It was comfortable for all of us (parents and three small children) and my kids loved the spiral staircase! I loved the kitchen and was pleasantly surprised with the level of detail in stocking it with supplies. It was very easy to get to the beach and the house came with brand new chairs and toys, as well as a cart to get it all there. We would be happy to stay in this home again!

My second stay at this townhouse....and as pleasant as the first time. Five minute walk to beach....clean....comfortable...and well equipped kitchen. Lagoon view is pretty and location is central to island. Only complaint was bathtub faucet drew only lukewarm water and vacuum cleaner was malfunctioning

We had a fantastic time staying at 485 Captain's Cove in September 2018. This is our third time renting in Hilton Head and our first Beverly Serral Signatures experience, and it didn't disappoint. The location can't be beat. The proximity to the beach and pool were perfect for our group, especially my four year old. The amenities at the property were great. I was so happy with the beach toys/cart/umbrellas and towels! Everything was clean and matched the photos. I also really appreciated the proactive communication from the staff leading up to the rental. There were concerns about a hurricane the week before our trip and they provided regular updates. It was a very smooth process and we will definitely rent from Beverly Serral Signatures again.

My family was extremely happy with the rental. The entire place was immaculate from kitchen drawers to bathroom corners. The kitchen was very well stocked with clean dishes and utensils, all in new condition. We appreciated having a beach cart, beach towels, and use of chairs for the beach and will know we can pack lighter and don't need to bring all of our own the next time we visit.

Upon arrival, we walked into a beautiful villa. The description is accurate and so much more. The back deck is peaceful & quiet with views of the canal. There was a gift basket for us .... thank you!! One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed.

It is so true that you only need to bring clothing and personal items and make a trip to the grocer.
